FLORIDA ADDICTIONS INSTITUTE:
Realizing that substance abuse is the nation's number one health problem, and that the need for trained professionals to handle this problem is on the rise, the Coalition for a Drug Free Southwest Florida decided to create a program that will help meet that need in the state of Florida. Trained professionals are needed to work with individuals who are dependent on drugs or alcohol to guide their treatment and recovery, to empower families and communities to keep children drug free, and to help businesses build a productive, drug-free workforce. The Florida Addictions Institute's two Certificate Programs focus on providing the specific knowledge and skills that addiction professionals need, allowing completion in months, not years.
